Broward County Public Schools Presentation - NE High School Bond Update

On November 4, 2014, voters authorized an $800 million bond construction project for the School Board of Broward County to update aging school facilities and equipment. The City of Oakland Park has 5 public schools within the City's boundaries who will be impacted by the bond construction projects.  The schools are:  Northeast High School, Rickards Middle School, Lloyd Estates Elementary School, North Andrews Gardens Elementary and Oakland Park Elementary Schools.

Mr. Leo Bobadilla, Chief Facilities Officer of Broward County Public Schools and Mr. Robert Corbin, Program Director and VP of the Heery International  Construction Group gave a presentation to the Commission and public providing an update on the bond construction projects at the schools in Oakland Park at the July 6, 2015 Commission meeting.  This meeting was followed up with a site visit to Northeast High School on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.  City staff, SBBC staff, City and School Board elected officials and various community stakeholders attended.  The site tour was followed up with a community meeting hosted by SBBC in the Northeast High School auditorium. 

Broward County School staff and consultants will attend the February 15, 2017 Commission meeting to offer updates from the July presentation and November site visit to Northeast High School.
