SUBJECT: GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for Fiscal Year 2024
1.BACKGROUND/HISTORY
    
 
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is awarded to the City of Oakland Park by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

2.CURRENT ACTIVITY
    
 

The 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate citizens and potential stakeholders to read the ACFR.  This is the City's 23rd consecutive year receiving the award.

 

The award is being presented to the Accounting Division of the Financial Services Department for the City, which includes Serge Denis, Michele Johnson, Kerri Anne Fisher, Tracey Watson, Millicent Powell, Kadian Taylor-Lewis, and Maria Orellana.
