Issue Statement:  The City of Oakland Park Public Works – Building Maintenance Division is responsible for the ongoing repair and maintenance of all City buildings and facilities. Having professional roof inspections, maintenance, and repair services will support the proper upkeep of both new and existing facilities. These services also assist with identifying potential issues early and extending the useful life of City facilities.

Staff seeks approval to utilize the City of Cape Coral's Contract #RPW22137MM-A with Advanced Roofing, Inc., to provide roofing inspections, maintenance and repair services. This contract was competitively solicited in May 2023, and was recently renewed for an additional year, through May 17, 2027.  

Oakland Park has successfully utilized this agreement in the past and is satisfied with the contractor's responsiveness and performance.

Recommended Action:  Staff recommends the City Commission adopt a resolution authorizing the City to enter into an agreement with Advanced Roofing, Inc., utilizing the City of Cape Coral Contract No. RPW22137MM-A for roofing maintenance and repair services, in an amount not to exceed budgeted availability.

The Public Works Department seeks to enter into an agreement with Advanced Roofing, Inc. for professional roofing inspection, maintenance, and repair services on an as-needed basis. These services will support the ongoing maintenance of City buildings and facilities by allowing staff to address roof-related issues, complete preventive maintenance, and identify needed repairs before more significant damage occurs.

The City proposes to utilize the City of Cape Coral Contract No. RPW22137MM-A with Advanced Roofing, Inc. The contract was competitively solicited in May 2023 and has been renewed through May 17, 2027. Use of this contract will provide the City with access to roofing services under established contract terms and pricing.

Work under the agreement will be requested as needed and based on available budget. Individual work orders exceeding $25,000 will be brought before the City Commission for separate approval in accordance with City requirements.

Expenditures under this agreement will be incurred on an as-needed basis. While individual repair services are expected to remain below the $25,000 threshold, cumulative expenditures over the term of the agreement are anticipated to exceed $25,000. In FY 2025, the City expended $8,384 with Advanced Roofing for roofing inspections, maintenance, and repair services.
