| | | | | | | | | 1. | BACKGROUND/HISTORY | | | Issue Statement: The Summer Lake Single Family Homes neighborhood, specifically along NW 43 Place, experiences nuisance ponding at cul-de-sac locations during rain events. These drainage deficiencies impact roadway usability and may contribute to localized flooding concerns.
Recommended Action: Adopt a resolution authorizing the appropriate City official to enter into an agreement with Florida Engineering and Development Corporation for drainage improvements to NW 43 Place in the amount of $85,490.83, utilizing the Sourcewell #FL-R6-CC-092524-FEDC contract. |

| | | | | | | | | 2. | CURRENT ACTIVITY | | | City staff evaluated drainage conditions within the Summer Lake neighborhood and identified necessary improvements to eliminate nuisance ponding at each cul-de-sac. The proposed project includes infrastructure modifications designed to improve stormwater flow and prevent standing water.
Florida Engineering and Development Corporation has been identified as the contractor for this project through Sourcewell contract #FL-R6-CC-092524-FEDC. Florida Engineering and Development Corporation has previously completed Bid Pack 8 for the City of Oakland Park and staff has been satisfied with the quality of work and overall performance. |

| | | | | | | | | 3. | FINANCIAL IMPACT | | | As outlined in the attached proposal from Florida Engineering and Development Corporation, the total construction cost for the drainage improvements to NW 43 Place (Summer Lake Single-Family Homes) is $85,490.83. A total of $35,000 was included in the FY 2026 Adopted Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget for curbing and swaling associated with drainage improvements. The accompanying budget amendment (Exhibit A.) provides the additional appropriation necessary to complete the project.
