Code Enforcement Board Appointment - Two (2) Regular Members  
1.BACKGROUND/HISTORY
    
 Issue Statement: Board members Dennis Buchta and Sandy "Sal" Gatanio's  terms expire September 2026. Both members been contacted and wish to continue to serve another three (3) year term.  There is one additional application from Mr. Michael Walsh attached for consideration.

 

Recommended Action: The City Commission, by consensus, appoint two (2) members with a  term ending September 2029. 

Sec. 24-234. Code enforcement board.

(A) Declaration of intent. (1) It is the intent of this article to promote, protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens and residents of the City of Oakland Park by authorizing the creation of an administrative board and the use of special masters, each having the authority to impose administrative fines and other noncriminal penalties to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing any codes and ordinances in force in the City of Oakland Park where a pending or repeated violation continues to exist.

 

Code Enforcement Board consistent with Florida Statutes 162 consists of seven (7) Members and two (2) Alternates, who each serve a term of three (3) years. This Board meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
