| | | | | | | | 1. | BACKGROUND/HISTORY | | Issue Statement - On October 2, 2019, at the request of the Mayor, this item was deferred to October 16, 2019, meeting.
On June 5, 2019, Mayor Guevrekian received consensus from the City Commission to discuss meetings held during a Hurricane State of Emergency.
Recommended Action - City Commission discussion and direction. |

| | | | | | | | 2. | CURRENT ACTIVITY | | On June 19, 2019, Hurricane State of Emergency was discussed and direction was provided to bring forward a resolution for procedure.
On July 10, 2019, an email was sent to the City Commission providing a procedure for City Commission meetings held in the event of an emergency.(email attached)
7-10-19 Emailed recommended procedure -
If there is a regular meeting ( as defined by section 2.15 (b) of the Charter) and a state of emergency is declared, the city clerk's office contacts each commissioner to see if she or he will attend the regularly scheduled meeting. Should a total of 3 commissioners inform the city clerk's office they will not attend due to the state of emergency then there is no quorum and the meeting is canceled.
On September 18, 2019, consensus was reached to discuss procedure for City Commission meetings held in the event of any emergency. |
