Section 119.07, Florida Statutes, provides “Inspection and copying of records; photographing public records; fees; exemptions,” authorizes the City to charge certain fees for reproduction of records pursuant to public records requests.
The City's fees and costs to reproduce records are provided under City code Sec. 2.13 which should be revised to be consistent with state law.
It is recommended to amend code section 2.13 (b)(c) to reflect state law 119.07 pertaining to charges for public records reproduction and copying services.
b) Copying and reproduction charges.
The city shall charge feels and costs for copying and reproduction services of city records and materials consistent with the fees and costs as provided by F.S. § 119.07, as amended from time to time, or otherwise adopted by city resolution.
(b) Police, accident and other reports.
(1) Whenever the city receives a request to produce, provide or compile any of the above records, the city may require it to be in writing and/or on a form prescribed by the police chief.
(2) The following charges are imposed in connection with any of the items in this subsection:
Copy charge per page (letter or legal) ..... $ 0.15

Oversize paper or special forms (page) ..... 1.00

(c) All other city departments.
(1) Whenever the city receives a request to produce, provide or compile any of the above records, the city may request it to be in writing and/or on a form prescribed by the city manager or the department head.
(2) The following charges are imposed in connection with any of the items in this subsection:
