Issue Statement: In an effort to increase efficiency and create a more user-friendly approach, over the past year the City has been reviewing City fees and incorporating City fees into a Fee Schedule/Book. Staff is proposing to update Community and Economic Development Fees and is seeking to remove the current fees from City Ordinance and incorporate these into a comprehensive user friendly Fee Booklet of City Fees adopted via resolution.
Recommended Action: Staff recommends that the City Commission approve the attached Ordinance amending Chapter 21 - Traffic, specifically Article II. – Stopping, Standing and Parking, Division I - Generally, Section 21-46.2 Fines, Penalties, and Removal to incorporate the fees into a Fee Booklet to be adopted by Resolution.
The proposed fees will be presented along with Second Reading of the Ordinance.
Background: The Department of Community and Economic Development fees are located in various sections of the City's Code of Ordinance including Chapters 7, 8, 21, and 24. Each Chapter is required to be heard as a separate agenda item. This item proposes the amendment of Chapter 21. Chapter 21 fees are imposed by the City and enforced by BSO.
