| | | | | | | | SUBJECT: Contract Renewals for Electrical Maintenance, Repair, and Emergency Services

| | | | | | | | 1. | BACKGROUND/HISTORY | | Issue Statement: The City of Oakland Park holds continuing service contracts for routine electrical maintenance and repair needs on an as-needed basis with six (6) electrical contracting firms that will expire in September 2021. The City seeks to exercise the first renewal option for an additional two (2) years under the same terms, conditions and pricing.
Recommended Action: The City Commission adopt a resolution approving the first renewal of the agreements with the following firms:
- “D” Electrician Technical Services, Inc.
- Imperial Electrical Inc.
- J & T Electrical Services, Inc.
- Kilowatt Electric Company
- Main-Guy Electrical Company
- Universal Electric of Florida, Inc.

| | | | | | | | 2. | CURRENT ACTIVITY | | On September 20, 2018, in accordance with Invitation to Bid, ITB 081018, Resolution number R-2018-136, the City Commission awarded contracts for Electrical Maintenance, Repair and Emergency Services to six (6) electrical contracting firms. Each contract had an initial term of three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional 2-year periods, upon mutual agreement by both parties.
The initial 3-year contract term will expire on September 20, 2021. Both the City and the contractors wish to exercise the first renewal option beginning September 21, 2021 and ending September 20, 2023, under the same terms, conditions and pricing. One (1) additional 2-year renewal option will remain.
Electrical improvements, repairs and maintenance are performed on an as-needed basis, subject to availability of funds. |

| | | | | | | | 3. | FINANCIAL IMPACT | |
This item has no immediate financial impact. Future services to be performed on an as-needed basis will use the funds in the repair and maintenance account of respective Departments/Divisions which are included in the proposed FY 22 Budget, and will be available once approved. No single project estimated to cost over $25,000 will be performed under the terms of this contractual agreement. |
