Program for Public Information Board (PPI)  - (3) Three appointments

 

1.BACKGROUND/HISTORY
    
 

Issue Statement:  On October 20, 2021, the City Commission adopted ordinance O-2021-018 establishing a Program for Public Information Board as part of the City's participation in the Community rating system for the National Flood Insurance Program to help property owners protect their properties from flood events.

 

Recommended Action: The City Commission, by consensus,  appoint three (3) members to the Public Information Board for a two (2) year term and adopt the resolution.

 

 

2.CURRENT ACTIVITY
    
 

On October 20, 2021, the City Commission adopted ordinance O-2021-018 establishing a Program for Public Information Board as part of the City's participation in the Community rating system for the National Flood Insurance Program to help property owners protect their properties from flood events.

 

The board is tasked with providing input and recommendations for suggested outreach as part of the City's Community Rating System (CRS) flood prevention and awareness efforts. The purpose of the PPI is to provide input and recommendations to the City Commission for suggested outreach as part of the process

 

Membership:  The Board shall consist of five members and be appointed for a two-year term:


  • Two (2) members shall be either a City resident or business owner.
  • One (1) member shall be a City resident or business owner with insurance industry credentials.
  • One (1)  member will be the City’s designated Flood plain Manger  (Albert Carbon, Public Works Director)
  • One (1) member will be the City’s Public Information Officer ( Shannon Vezina, PIO).
  • The presence of three (3) or more members constitute a quorum.
