| | | | | | | | | 1. | BACKGROUND/HISTORY
| | | Issue Statement: The City is requesting a structural condition survey and assessment of five City-owned and maintained bridges throughout the City. This is a proactive project to ensure that bridge conditions are identified, and a cost estimate is provided for future work to remedy deficiencies found.
Recommended Action: The City Commission adopt a resolution approving the work authorization with Lakdas/Yohalem Engineering, Inc. for the City of Oakland Park Bridge Assessments in an amount not-to-exceed $88,480.

| | | | | | | | | 2. | CURRENT ACTIVITY
| | | The City of Oakland Park owns and maintains five bridges throughout the City. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) performs annual inspections of the bridges and identified deficiencies that need action. Lakdas/Yohalem Engineering will perform a Structural Condition Survey and Assessment to include:
- Review recent FDOT report and existing construction documents
- Onsite visual and sounding survey
- Onsite underwater survey
- Evaluate site findings
- Compile a report with findings, comments, and recommendations for corrective work
- Cost estimate for proposed work
The combined cost for these services is $88,480.
Lakdas/Yohalem Engineering, Inc. has completed other projects for the City and staff has been satisfied with the work performed. |

| | | Funds are available for the Bridges Structural Condition Survey and Assessment within the FY 2022 Operating Budget of the Streets Division. As shown on the fee estimate from Lakdas/Yohalem Engineering, Inc, which is attached on the Work Authorization, the firm’s professional services fee is an amount not-to-exceed $88,480. The proposed expenditure is as follows:
