The City’s pump stations require replacement pumps to be from the same manufacturer. Each manufacturer has local representatives. For the two pump manufacturers listed above, the City purchases pumps from the following companies:

Recommended Action: The City Commission adopt a resolution approving the purchase of submersible sewage pumps from Xylem Water Solutions USA and Tom Evans Environmental, approving expenditure authority up to the budgeted availability.

| | | | | | | | 2. | CURRENT ACTIVITY | | In our geographic area, Xylem Water Solutions USA is the sole source for Flygt Pumps and Tom Evans Environmental is the sole source for EBARA Pumps. Based on expenditures to date and forecasted expenditures in FY22, expenditures require Commission approval.
In FY 2021, the Public Works Department spent approximately $47,500 with Xylem and $11,500 with Tom Evans for various pump purchases, repairs and accessories. Accordingly, funding was included in the Operating Budget of the Public Works Department for these purposes. This fiscal year to date, the Public Works Department has spent $27,945 with Xylem and $6,316 with Tom Evans, and funding is available for additional pump purchases, repairs and accessories.
Staff recommends the immediate purchase of four (4) additional pumps with adapters this fiscal year; two (2) for lift station D-4, and two (2) for lift station D-13, totaling $86,645.36. |
