Issue Statement:  The Bonsai Supply, a business at 3553 N. Dixie Highway, is seeking an incentive grant for the installation of a new illuminated sign. In the Fiscal Year 17 CRA Budget, the City Commission approved the allocation of $85,000 in incentive grant funding to be used within the CRA.

Recommended Action: Staff recommends approval of the $3,000 incentive and authorization for the City Manager to execute the incentive agreement.

The CRA received an incentive application from The Bonsai Supply at 3553 N. Dixie Highway for the installation of an illuminated sign.  3553 N. Dixie Highway is located on the west side of Dixie Highway. The business' mission statement is  “Our aim is to offer and supply a large variety of high-quality Bonsai pots and accessories to Bonsai enthusiasts at very reasonable prices. We endeavor to maintain long-term business relationships.”

The Commission appropriated $85,000 in the CRA's budget for FY2017 for incentives to qualified business establishments.  With this award, $9,100.00 will still be available for incentives and assistance for the remainder of the year.
