Due to COVID-19, pursuant to its home rules powers and per Ordinance O-2020-022, the City deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents to make provisions for public meetings by use of communication media technology and for attendance by use of such technology by elected and appointed officials during periods of a declared local public health emergency.

Case #CD21-09T “Electric Vehicle Charging” - An Ordinance to Amend the City of Oakland Park Code of Ordinances, Chapter 24, Land Development Code to Require Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure For All Newly Constructed Residential Buildings and Charging Stations at Newly Constructed Multi-family and Mixed-use Residential Projects. Advertising for this public hearing appeared in the Sun-Sentinel April 25, 2021.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND PARK, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 24 - LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, SPECIFICALLY ARTICLE V – SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS, TO CREATE SECTION 24-74.1, TO BE TITLED “ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS REQUIRED” TO ADD A REQUIREMENT THAT NEW RESIDIENTIAL BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED AFTER THE DATE OF ADOPTION SHALL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING AT A PORTION OF ALL PROVIDED ON-SITE PARKING SPACES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
